Welcome to Simone's Kitchen - Good Food Institute

Breughelstraat 32, 2018 Antwerpen, Belgium

General Info

Simone's Kitchen - Good Food Institute sits quietly on Breughelstraat 32 in the 2018 district of Antwerpen, but once you step inside, it immediately feels alive. This cosy vegan restaurant has a warm, welcoming energy that makes it easy to slow down and actually enjoy the moment. The space feels thoughtfully put together, perfect for relaxed dine-in moments, whether you’re stopping by alone with a coffee or sharing a table with friends.

The menu reflects a clear love for good food made with care. Brunch Sunday is a real highlight here, drawing in locals who appreciate plant-based comfort dishes done right. Plates arrive looking simple yet inviting, and the flavors feel balanced rather than overworked. The tofu scramble is especially satisfying-soft, well-seasoned, and hearty enough to keep you full without feeling heavy. It’s the kind of dish that shows how vegan options can be both nourishing and indulgent at the same time.

Frittata lovers won’t feel like they’re missing out either. The vegan frittata holds its texture beautifully and works just as well for a late breakfast as it does for a casual lunch. On slower mornings, porridge is another favorite. Served warm and comforting, it feels homemade in the best possible way, making it ideal for anyone who enjoys a calm start to the day with a thoughtful meal.

Dessert deserves its own moment here. The apple crumble is rich, gently sweet, and deeply comforting. It tastes like something straight from a family kitchen, not rushed and not overly refined. Paired with a cup of their great coffee, it turns a quick visit into a lingering experience. Coffee lovers will appreciate the quality, as it complements the food without overpowering it.

On-site services are smooth and friendly, adding to the overall ease of the visit. Reviews often reflect how relaxed and personal the atmosphere feels, which matches the setting perfectly. Simone’s Kitchen isn’t about trends or flashy presentations. Instead, it focuses on honest vegan cooking, a well-curated menu, and a space that feels genuinely welcoming. It’s a location that fits naturally into everyday life in Antwerpen, offering food that feels good to eat and even better to share.

What customers say?

“ I love the vibe of this place, it feels like a cosy living room and the food is super tasty! Simone’s Kitchen takes inspiration from seasonal produce and worldwide cuisines to create a well balanced four course menu. I loved chatting to the staff about their reason for volunteering. I had the pleasure of experiencing the Spanish-Italian and Chinese menu - both displayed great balance and thought. ”

“ The restaurant works with an itinerary menu that changes every three weeks. I had the opportunity to experience the Spanish-Italian menu and it’s absolutely delicious in every aspect. They pay attention to every detail. The atmosphere is also something that invites you back. Highly recommend! ”

“ Excellent menu, completely vegan. Delicious food with a variety of tasty flavours in spite of our prejudices. They serve a good glass of wine and also a nice beer if you like that. Top! ”

“ A lovely independent guest house and vegan restaurant. The owners and staff are so welcoming and kind. They have meals at night which are open to the public. When we stayed it was a Jamaican menu. This was all plant-based and gluten-free. We had breakfast which included tea, coffee and juice. We booked this the night before we ate. My partner had home made granola with fresh fruit and rice milk. Because I am coeliac and have to eat gluten free I was unable to have any of the breakfasts as they all included either bread, or regular oats, which I can't have. I asked if I could have "leftovers" from the Jamaican meal for breakfast and the chef was very obliging and said yes. So I had delicious Jamaican breakfast. Nice healthy and filling. The dining room is calm, light and airy. With an open kitchen. The room was on the 4th floor. There are no lifts so please don't stay here if you have mobility issues. The room was large and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was ensuite and had glass panels with frosting so you couldn't see in. There are also a couple of separate toilets in the hallway if you prefer more privacy. The guest house is in a quiet area and at night you don't hear anything. In the morning the road outside is busier at 8am... as you would expect in a city. The guesthouse is close to tram route no 4, which takes you in the city centre. Otherwise it is 1 mile/1.6km walk. There is a supermarket next to the tram stop which is also handy. We recommend staying here. Very relaxing and welcoming. ”

“ We were there for brunch on a Sunday. Making a reservation was easy. It wasn't that busy, but it's definitely advisable. As soon as we walked in, the place smelled wonderful. The buffet, a mix of savory and sweet items (breads and spreads, chia pudding, granola, cakes, cauliflower curry, tapioca sticks, salads, soup, and much more), was plentiful, well-seasoned, and varied. The coffee was also excellent, and the homemade kombucha is highly recommended. Our dogs were also welcome. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again. They also serve evening meals with a changing selection of regional cuisines. ”
